Hobbes studied the ring, trying to imprint the image of it in his mind. “Move through time?” he said softly, “well, that’s an interesting power.” His eyes flickered up to her face. “Empathy?”
PJ saw the way he looked at the Ring. “Yeah. It is interesting. It works by taking you to see love. Only cupids can work it though. Well, and hate demons.” She grimaced, since those were her enemy the way darklighters were her cousins. She nodded when he looked up at her. “Yeah, empathy. The ability to feel others emotions.”
Only to see love. Well, that was in no way helpful to him. He doubted a love of power would really work for a Cupid’s ring. Still… “I’d be happy to help you. Learn how to tap into the power,” he offered. “There are some older scrolls that can have useful information in them,” he explained. Then paused. “… Interesting power to have. It must get confusing, surely?”
Smiling warmly at him, she nodded. “That’d be great, thank you.” She didn’t entirely trust him, but she was always happy to give people second chances. And plus, she really did want to learn how to use her Ring. “Oh, it’s not that confusing. I mean, it was when I was younger, but I’ve learnt how to differentiate between my emotions, and others.” Still, she’d like to be able to turn it off sometimes. Or manipulate others emotions. It hurt when she was around sad people, and she wanted to be able to help them in any way possible.
